Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the common questions we get about volunteering with the Mental Health Warriors Association.

  • Are the positions full or part time?

    We offer complete flexibility when it comes to our volunteers, each volunteer will set out their availability so it can be full or part time, or when you have a spare couple hours. 

  • Does the position go past the summer holidays?

    Yes! We have many groups and ideas at the ready to start now, during and after the summer holidays. 

  • Do I need to cover my tattoos?

    No! we want our volunteers to be their authentic self. 

  • Do I need to do courses before starting?

    No, every week Dani will share all courses available via youth 1st and you can sign up at your own time all you’ll need for starting is a pvg and attend an induction morning or afternoon to meet the team

  • Can a 15 year old volunteer? 

    Yes, we are more than happy to accept applications from 15 year olds and we have a policy in place that requires parental consent.

  • Can parents be volunteers?

    Yes and along with our current volunteers will also require a pvg before starting to keep inline with the new legislation.
